Ten custom signs in one order. Is that ten copies of one design, or ten different designs?
In Appify Custom Product Options, you set volume breaks in Quantity Discount Rules and choose which quantity counts toward them. A break can follow the quantity alone, or the quantity and the size together.
The discount comes off automatically at checkout. With inline prices turned on, shoppers see each break's price before they choose.
An example: stickers by the hundred
Here's a ladder working on the Stickers by Buttons demo. The shopper picks a size, a shape and a color, then a quantity.
- A price per sticker from the size. Each size has an area, and a pricing table turns the area into a price per sticker. The table fills in between its rows, so a custom size gets a fair price too.
- Nine volume breaks. 25% off from 100 stickers, rising step by step to 85% off at 10,000. Each one is a percent off in Quantity Discount Rules.
- Prices on every button. Each quantity shows its line total, its price each and a badge with the saving.
- Room for odd orders. A custom size takes a length and width, and a custom quantity takes any amount. Both are priced by the same table and the same breaks.
Here's one price worked out, in dollars. A 3 inch sticker is 9 square inches, which the table prices at 1.86 each. 300 stickers comes to 558.00, and the 35% break brings it to 362.70, or 1.21 each. The total shows the 558 struck through, so the shopper sees what the break saved them.
Decide what counts toward a tier
A custom product can have three quantities: the number in the calculator, the cart quantity, and the same product across several cart lines. The Aggregation setting picks the one that reaches a tier.
| Aggregation | What reaches the tier | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Per line | Each cart line on its own. Raising the cart quantity can move it up a tier. | One design ordered in bulk |
| Per product | Every line of the same product, added together | Ten signs in ten designs, priced as ten |
| Per calculator | Every product that uses the same calculator, added together | Mixed orders across a range, like labels in several shapes |
| Per configuration | Only the quantity chosen in the calculator. The cart quantity multiplies the job. | Print jobs, where each design is its own run |
Per configuration prices the job. A customer sets up 200 stickers, then changes the cart quantity to 10, and pays for ten jobs at the 200-sticker price. To reach the 2,000-sticker break, they edit the job itself.
Discount types and size-based breaks
Each tier is a percent off, an amount off, or a target unit price, which sets the price per piece at that break. A printed per-piece rate card goes in as written.
In Advanced (2D) mode, each size range gets its own tiers, so small and large items can get different breaks at the same quantity. The size can come from a measurement field or a pricing variable, such as the area your formula works out.
Our quantity discount guide for custom products walks through each type and 2D setup with examples.
Bring the tiers in from your spreadsheet
Click Import table and paste the cells from Excel or Google Sheets. A simple ladder pastes as two columns, the minimum quantity and the discount.
A 2D grid pastes with sizes down one side and quantities across the top. If your sheet is the other way round, set which side is quantity.
The Table view shows every break in one grid you can edit in place. Copy table puts it on your clipboard for another calculator.
Or attach the sheet to Chat with AI and ask it to add the discounts. It can also put the price and saving beside each quantity choice.
Show the breaks before the shopper picks
- Prices beside each quantity. Turn on Show price and discount inline on the Quantity option. Each choice shows a line total, a unit price or both, with a savings badge like -15%.
- A tiers table. Add the Appify CPO Quantity Tiers theme block to list every break beside the calculator.
Inline prices come from the full calculator, so size, material and the tier are all in the number. On the sticker calculator above, switching from 2 inch to 3 inch reprices every quantity button at once.
Fees, minimums and surcharges
- Setup fees. Add them as a fixed fee. Fixed fees are charged in full, so a 40% break comes off the product only.
- A minimum price. Set one in the total price formula so a small piece still covers your time.
- Oversize surcharges. A price adjustment adds a charge once the area passes a limit you set.

What happens at checkout
Once the calculator is published, the discount is applied automatically on the cart line it belongs to. There's no code to hand out and nothing extra to set up.
A shopper one step short of the next break can tap Edit options in the cart and raise the quantity in the calculator, without starting over.

FAQ
Can different designs count toward the same volume tier?
Yes. In Appify Custom Product Options, set aggregation to per product or per calculator, and every matching cart line adds up toward the break.
Can a print job keep its tier when the customer orders several copies?
Yes. Per configuration aggregation reads only the calculator quantity, so copies in the cart stay on the job's price.
Can I import quantity breaks from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Paste them with Import table, or attach the sheet to Chat with AI and ask it to add the discounts.
Are setup fees discounted too?
No. Fixed fees are charged in full. Quantity discounts apply to the product price only.
