A custom apparel pricing app has to do one thing well: price a shirt from everything the customer chose. That means size, color, each print location, the quantity and the artwork. If the app only adds a fixed amount per option, you will end up fixing prices by hand.
Appify Custom Product Options does it with a price formula, size lookups, quantity breaks and a design editor in one app. Here is what to check for, and how each point works there.
Does it price every print location on its own?
A front print, a back print and a sleeve print are three different jobs. Your app should charge for each one the customer picks, and charge it on every shirt in the order.
In the T-Shirt Bulk Order demo, each shirt costs its Shopify price plus a charge per location: 25.00 for the front, 25.00 for the back, 12.50 for a shoulder and 18.00 for a side. The total price formula works out the price of one shirt, then multiplies it by the order.
The full walkthrough is in Inside a Shopify T-Shirt Calculator.
Can a bigger size cost more?
A 2XL uses more fabric than a Small. If your pricing has to follow that, the app needs to price by size, not just list sizes.
Appify Custom Product Options handles it with a pricing table or a choice formula, so a size such as 2XL can carry its own price. Setup is covered in Custom Apparel Pricing on Shopify.
Do quantity breaks count the whole order?
Team orders are mixed. Six Medium, six Large and four Small in two colors should reach the 12-shirt break together. A break that waits for one size to hit 12 loses the sale.
With a Quantity grid, the total across every cell is the quantity the discount tiers see. You can build the ladder by percent off, amount off or a set price per shirt, or paste it in from a spreadsheet with Import table.
In the demo, 15 Gold and 10 Blue shirts reach the 25-shirt break together. The 10% comes off the full shirt price, prints included: 68.99 per shirt becomes 62.09, and the order totals 1,552.27.
Ask any app one question: if I order 15 of one color and 10 of another, which break do I get? In Appify Custom Product Options, the answer is the one for 25.
Can a customer order every size and color in one go?
Nobody wants to add the same shirt to the cart six times. The app should take the whole size run on one page.
The Quantity grid puts colors down the side and sizes across the top, with a box in each cell. It reads your Shopify variants, so the grid shows Sold out for a combination you do not have and Only N available when a count goes over stock. Set a minimum total quantity if you only take team orders of at least a set number of shirts.
The whole order stays on one cart line, and stock is taken from each variant ordered. See it live in the bulk order breakdown.
Can setup fees stay whole at any quantity?
A screen setup charge should not shrink because the order is big. A fixed fee sits on top of the calculated price, is never affected by discounts, and shows as its own line in the price summary. You can also write the fee as a formula, so it only applies when the customer picks a certain print.
Can customers add their own artwork?
Apparel is rarely sold blank. The customer needs a place to put a logo or a design, and you need to know where it goes.
Appify Custom Product Options has a Product Designer built in. A shirt can have a front and a back side, each with its own settings, and the customer designs once for the whole order. The grid and print locations stay in the right panel, so they can change a count without leaving the design.
Our front and back design walkthrough covers the two sides in detail.
Shirt photos can follow the color they pick, since each variant's featured photo can drive the preview.
Does the order stay readable and fixable?
A team order changes after checkout starts. Someone always needs one more Medium.
- The cart line lists every combination. Color, size, count, print locations and the discount are all there.
- Customers can fix it themselves. Edit options reopens the grid with every count filled in. Cart editing is covered in its own article.
- SKUs follow the choices. With SKU rules, a Large in Black can come out as TEE-LG-BLK.
- Repeat orders come back whole. Signed-in customers can use Appify Reorder.
