A configured product has three more tests to pass after the product page.
- Cart edits. The customer changes their mind in the cart.
- Reorders. They come back months later to order the same thing again.
- Recovery. They leave at checkout, and your recovery email has to bring the cart back.
Each time, the question is the same: do their options come back with it?
Appify Custom Product Options is the strongest pick. Customers edit their options from the cart, reorder past jobs with every choice intact, and return from an abandoned checkout email to the cart they actually built. It covers all three, on every plan.
Here's what to check in any app, then how the field compares.
What should you check in any app?
- Edits from the cart. Can a customer reopen a line from the cart page or drawer, change the size or the artwork, and update it without starting over?
- A fresh price on every edit. Does the edited line go through the same formulas, tables and discounts as the product page?
- A reorder that brings back the job. Shopify's own Buy again adds the variant and drops the options. Is there a replacement in the customer account, the confirmation email and your own admin?
- Recovery that restores the configuration. When a shopper clicks your abandoned checkout email, does the whole cart come back with every option filled in?
- What happens after you change your prices. If you raised a rate since the item went into the cart, which price does the customer check out at?
- The plan it's on. In most options apps, cart editing sits on a higher plan.
Run the list against every app here, ours included.
None of these gaps shows up in a report. A shopper who lands on a cart with none of their options closes the tab.
A repeat customer who has to rebuild last year's order from memory may not bother. The customer never complains, they just don't come back.
1. Appify Custom Product Options: the configuration survives the order
Appify Custom Product Options saves each configured line when it goes into the cart. Every tool after that reads it back, so nobody rebuilds a product from a blank form.
In the cart: Edit options
Each configured line on the cart page or in the cart drawer gets an Edit options button. It opens a full-screen editor on your calculator with every choice filled in, quantity included.
The customer changes the size, the material or the design, then clicks Update. The old line is replaced, and a linked fee is swapped out with it, so no stray fee is left behind.
Lines that came back from a reorder or a restored cart can be edited the same way. More on that in how to let customers edit configured products in the cart.
After the order: three ways to reorder
- Customer accounts. The Appify Reorder block replaces Shopify's Buy again on the Orders page and on each order's status page.
- The confirmation email. A Reorder this item link under each customized product rebuilds that line in the cart. It adds to what's already there.
- Your own team. In the app's Orders tab, staff click Reorder on a line, or Add Order to Cart to rebuild the whole order, regular products included.
The design comes back too. A label customer reordering doesn't go hunting for the original artwork file. Here's why Shopify's Buy again drops custom options in the first place.
Before the order: Restore your cart
Shopify's default abandoned checkout button opens a cart with the product and the quantity, and none of the options. The shopper who configured a blind finds one with no width and no fabric.
Appify Custom Product Options puts a Restore your cart link in that email instead. It rebuilds the whole cart, customized and regular products together, and the shopper lands on the cart page ready to check out. Shopify's notification email can also list each product's options, one per line.
It works with Shopify's notification emails, Shopify Marketing Automations, and Klaviyo or another email app. The setup is in abandoned cart recovery that keeps product customizations.
When you've changed the calculator since
Every edit, reorder and restored cart opens the calculator you have published now, with the customer's choices filled in. If the calculator changed since they made them, they get a short review step before the line goes back in the cart. A cart that sat for a week doesn't check out at last week's prices, and last year's job reorders at today's rates.
The same pricing engine on every line
An edited, reordered or restored line is priced exactly like the product page:
- Formulas on any option and on the final price.
- Pricing variables, named values like AREA, written once and reused in any formula or rule.
- Pricing tables that hold your rate sheet as written.
- Quantity discounts, fixed fees and a minimum or maximum price.
Every feature is on every plan, so cart editing, reorder and recovery are never an upgrade.
It isn't the only app built for configured products.
2. SE: Option Price Calculator, calculator-first pricing
SE: Option Price Calculator is another strong choice, built calculator-first. It prices customizable and measurement-based products with formulas and pricing tables, and it supports Shopify Markets currency conversion.
For cart edits, reorders and recovery in one app, start with Appify Custom Product Options.
Other options apps you'll meet
You'll find several more options apps while searching. They're built around the product page. Here's what each one does well, and where it stops.
3. Easify Custom Product Options
Easify covers option types, conditional logic, and choices shown on orders, packing slips and emails. In-cart option editing sits on a higher plan.
Its dimension pricing is an area price on a dimension option: length times width times your rate.
Where it fits: product-page options with add-on prices.
Where it stops: cart edits need a higher plan, and nothing comes after the cart. Until you upgrade, a customer who wants a different size removes the item and starts again. A customer who comes back to order the same thing has no reorder button, so Shopify's Buy again adds the plain product and they pick every option again. Appify Custom Product Options has cart edits and Reorder on every plan, so choosing Easify is choosing fewer features, not different ones.
4. Globo Product Options, Variant
Globo adds options and charges for the extras with add-on prices. Choices flow into orders and packing slips, and customers can edit their options on the cart page on a higher plan. Its dimension pricing matches Easify's: an area price, and nothing past it.
Where it fits: extras priced as add-ons, with the choices written onto orders and packing slips for your team.
Where it stops: the choices are written down, but nothing puts them back in a cart. When a customer asks to repeat an old order, someone reads it and builds the cart again by hand, one option at a time. In Appify Custom Product Options, staff click Add Order to Cart on the app's Orders page and the whole order is rebuilt, regular products included, with every choice filled in.
5. Hulk Product Options
Hulk Product Options covers options, swatches and file uploads. Add-on charges can be fixed, a percentage or formula-based. Editing in the cart comes on a higher plan, and formula-based options on its top plan.
Where it fits: priced add-ons and file uploads, with formula-based charges on its top plan.
Where it stops: its formulas are charges added to the product, not the product's price. That matters after the cart, because every edit and reorder has to be priced again. In Appify Custom Product Options, the formula is the product's price on every plan. An edit in the cart reprices the line through the same engine, and a reorder opens on today's calculator, with a review step if your prices have changed since.
6. Ultimate Product Options
Ultimate Product Options offers over 40 option types with conditional logic and price add-ons. Inline cart editing comes on a higher plan.
Where it fits: a long list of option types, and options generated with AI from a prompt or a screenshot.
Where it stops: at checkout. Its listing doesn't cover cart recovery, so a customer who builds a product from a dozen options and leaves gets whatever email Shopify or Klaviyo sends. In Appify Custom Product Options, that email's Restore your cart link rebuilds the whole cart, options included, and lands them on the cart page ready to pay. Chat with AI builds options too, along with the pricing and rules behind them.
7. Infinite Options
Infinite Options by ShopPad goes past Shopify's variant limits with text boxes, dropdowns, swatches, conditional logic and add-on pricing. Every choice is saved on the order in your Shopify admin.
Where it fits: going past Shopify's variant limits, with every choice saved on the order.
Where it stops: its listing doesn't mention reorders. That's a problem for exactly the products it's built for. Shopify's Buy again adds only the variant, so the more of a product lives in its options, the less comes back. In Appify Custom Product Options, Appify Reorder replaces Buy again in the customer account and returns the product with every choice filled in.

Compared October 2026. Apps change, so features may have moved since.
Appify Custom Product Options is green on all 11 rows. None of the other four is green on any of them. The most any of them reaches is two partial rows, both on a higher plan. Edits, reorders, recovery and the pricing behind them sit in one app, on every plan.

FAQ
Can customers edit custom options in the Shopify cart?
Not in a standard Shopify cart, which only changes the quantity or removes the line. Appify Custom Product Options adds an Edit options button that reopens the calculator with every choice filled in.
Does Shopify's abandoned cart email keep custom options?
No. The default button brings back the product and the quantity only. A Restore your cart link from Appify Custom Product Options rebuilds the whole cart with every option in place.
How do customers reorder a custom product with the same options?
Turn off Shopify's Buy again and add the Appify Reorder block to customer accounts. A Reorder this item link in the confirmation email and a staff Reorder button in the app do the same job.
What price does a reordered or restored item get?
Today's. It opens the calculator you have published now, and if that changed, the customer reviews their filled-in choices before the line is added.
Can customers change something when they reorder?
Yes. Once the line is back in the cart, Edit options reopens it with everything filled in, so a new size or date is one update away.
Can I keep using Klaviyo for abandoned cart emails?
Yes. Paste the ready-made button link from the Appify Custom Product Options dashboard into your Klaviyo email, and the button restores the cart with its options.
Every option comes back, long after add to cart.
