Every option a shopper picks raises the same question: what does it cost now?
With Appify Custom Product Options, the price updates as they choose, on the product page or anywhere else you place the calculator. You decide how much of it they see: one total, a full breakdown, a price beside every quantity, or what each choice adds.
The number itself comes from the pricing engine: formulas, pricing tables, quantity discounts that can change with size, fees, and a minimum or maximum price. Whatever your rate card says, the live price follows it.
Here's how to set up each one, and how to check the numbers before customers do.
One total, or the whole breakdown?
The price summary is the panel that shows the price next to your calculator. You switch each line on or off:
| Line | What the shopper sees |
|---|---|
| Options | Each option's price, with labels you can rename and reorder |
| Quantity and Unit Price | How many, and the price per piece |
| Subtotal, Quantity Discount and Discounts | The price before savings, then each saving |
| Fixed Fees | Each fee on its own line, like setup or rush |
| Add-ons and Total with add-ons | Linked store products, and the full amount at checkout |
| Total | The final price after every discount |
A simple product needs only Total: one clean number under the calculator. A made-to-order job with fees and quantity breaks reads better itemized, so nobody is surprised by a setup fee at checkout.
Show the numbers behind the price
The summary can list pricing variables too, not just money. Untick Format value as price and give it a template like {result} m² or {result} boxes.
So a flooring shopper can see the area and the box count right above the total. The price stops being a mystery number.
Custom HTML rows add headings and dividers, so a long summary can group Material above Labour.
Show a price beside every quantity
Turn on Show price and discount inline on a quantity dropdown, radio list or buttons. Each choice then shows its price for the whole configuration, as a total, a price each, or both, with a green savings badge when a break applies.
Try it on the neon stickers on our Shopify demo store: change the quantity and watch the price and the saving move. To show every break before they add to cart, add the Appify CPO Quantity Tiers theme block.
You can also ask Chat with AI to add the quantity discounts and put the price and saving beside each choice. Setting up the breaks themselves is covered in tiered and volume pricing for custom products.
Show what each choice adds
Turn on Show price difference text in the summary's Options settings. The summary then shows how each choice affects the price against the base selection.
That's the line that sells an upgrade. A shopper weighing a premium material sees what it adds, not just a bigger total.
In the shopper's own currency
If your store sells in several currencies through Shopify Markets, the live price converts automatically. Option prices, fees, the summary and the total all show in the shopper's currency as they choose.
Values that aren't money, like an area or a box count, stay as they are. For the full international setup, read how to sell custom products in multiple languages and currencies.
Check the live price before customers see it
The editor's live preview shows the price the way shoppers will see it. If a number looks off, Price looks wrong? opens the Troubleshoot tab for those exact choices. The full routine is in how to preview price changes before they go live.
Start with the total. Then add the lines your shoppers ask about, like the setup fee, the area or the price at 100.
