2. Read your rate sheet

A lot of trade pricing isn't a formula at all. It's a grid: width down the side, height across the top, a price in each cell.

Pricing tables hold that grid, in one column or two. The calculator can match a row exactly, take the nearest row up or down, or interpolate between rows. One table can serve every product that uses the same rates, so a price change is made once.

3. Handle the rules around the price

The base price is rarely the whole quote. These sit around it:

• Quantity discounts by quantity alone, or by quantity and size together, so 100 small stickers and 100 large ones get different breaks. They apply in the cart without a discount code.
• Fixed fees such as a setup charge or a rush fee that only applies when the customer picks Rush.
• Price adjustments like "add 15% for premium material", kept out of the main formula so it stays readable.
• A minimum and maximum price, so a tiny order still covers your setup time.
• Limits on what can be entered. One choice can change another field's minimum, maximum or step, or hide the choices that don't apply.

4. Charge that exact price at checkout

With checkout pricing, the calculated total replaces the product's Shopify price automatically. There's nothing to set up.

The product goes through your theme's own Add to Cart button as a normal cart line. The customer's choices go with it onto the order, so whoever makes the product sees the width, height and material next to the product name.

5. Show you why a price is wrong

Click Price looks wrong? under the preview price and the Troubleshoot tab opens with those exact choices loaded. It shows what every part of the formula is worth and names the likely fix.

Or just tell Chat with AI what's off, such as "the Rush fee never adds for 25 pieces." It opens the Troubleshoot tab for that formula with a note on what to check first. Describe the case and it puts those choices in the preview and fills in the price you expected.

6. Grow with the store
